Storefront upgrades, access lockdown and hosting move for a T-shirt marketplace

The challenge

An Indian e-commerce company runs a multi-seller store for custom T-shirts, where several sellers list designs side by side and shoppers browse across them. The business wanted a long list of storefront and marketing improvements, from better search and layout to more flexible coupons.

At the same time, the store had an operational problem: orders were disappearing from the admin. Access to the store and its hosting needed to be locked down quickly, and the company decided to move the site away from its existing hosting provider before that account expired.

What we did

• Scoped change list. We priced each requested change individually so the client could choose what to proceed with, then agreed the package as a whole. The client tracked each item as it moved from our test server to the live store.
• Search and navigation. We added search by seller and by category, reworked the add-to-cart layout, and fixed mobile search, banner and email issues.
• Coupons and affiliates. We added a publish option for coupons so they could be prepared in advance and switched on when needed, and fixed the store's affiliate feature.
• Access security. When orders were found missing, we changed every control-panel and store admin credential to close off access, then audited the store and set out recommended hardening steps.
• Hosting move. We created a new cPanel account with the store's own nameservers and transferred the site from its previous host before the old account ran out.
