Fashion marketplace with seller stock users and design booking
For an Indian fashion retailer, we installed our multi-seller marketplace extension on its custom-themed store, added restricted stock-editing logins for seller staff and built an admin module for booking designs and raising purchase orders to sellers.
Results
- Marketplace extension installed and adapted to the client's custom theme within days
- Seller staff logins and Manage Stock page delivered; client thanked us for completion and good service (Aug 2018)
- Booking and purchase-order module added to admin and refined with the client's inventory rules
The challenge
An Indian fashion and apparel company wanted its store to work as a marketplace, with multiple sellers supplying designs. Its site ran on a heavily customised theme, so an off-the-shelf install would not drop in cleanly.
Two operational needs went beyond a standard marketplace. Sellers' staff needed to update stock, images and SKUs, ideally from a mobile app, without access to anything else in the seller account. And the company's own team needed to book designs from sellers in advance, track how much had been booked, and turn those bookings into purchase orders.
What we did
- Marketplace install and theme fit. The client bought our Multiseller / Multivendor / Multishippers Advanced Pro extension for OpenCart. We installed it on their server and adapted pages such as seller rating and contact-seller to their customised theme.
- Restricted seller staff logins. We added a second login per seller for staff, limited to a Manage Stock page where they can edit only images, SKUs and quantities. Model numbers were locked, an SKU column and filter were added, images enlarged and a quantity-update issue fixed. The client planned to load this page inside its own Android app.
- Booking and purchase-order module. We built a "quick order" area in the admin sales section. The team can place orders in a Booked status, track booked quantities, view a booked-design report and order from booked designs to raise purchase orders to sellers.
- Inventory rules and refinements. Following a call and the client's consolidated list of changes, we refined how booked orders reduce inventory and renamed admin tabs to match the team's workflow.
- Fixes. We resolved issues with bulk upload, booking errors, menus and product-listing filters across the following months.
